How to increase our market value

2010/9/2

Simply speaking, if we can get a job which other people cannot do but there is demand
for, we can earn. Such a job should pay good salary based on market value. On the contrary,
routine jobs should be low pay based on market value. Employers do not need to pay for jobs
which anybody can do (except when there is huge demand in that field.)

In reality, any job is very competitive nowadays. So, except for the jobs that I previously
mentioned such as legally protected jobs in government sectors, global competition is harsh or
demand is shrinking.

That is, there is harsh competition against other people or companies basically. I guess that
there may be around just one in one million people who can open a new market where competitors
do not exist yet.

Furthermore, even if we reach a niche market, it is difficult not to avoid competition again
other people or companies who follow the niche market in terms of funds or human resources.

Therefore, we almost cannot avoid competing with other people or companies in working after
graduating school or university, and we have to show higher market value than that of other people
among the hard competition in order to increase our own market value.

So, how can we increase our market value in the hard competition?
